Conventional explanations for Orb phenomenon

Before we get too enmeshed in believing Orb photography just because someone claims it exists, it's worth some time to look into how a camera can be fooled. One wants to be able to definitively say "this picture indicates kind of spirit manifestation", if only because there are plenty of naysayers who automatically claim that any phenomenon they don't understand has to be bogus. If one knows the ways picture taking can go astray, then one can adjust the conditions of orb photography experimentation to avoid those problems.

The Orb Project book and DVD

This newly published book and its companion DVD are a very interesting and powerful introduction to Orb photography. The authors are Miceal Ledwith, formerly a professor of Theology at Maynooth College in Ireland, and Klaus Heinemann a physicist with 40 or more years work in materials science working for NASA Ames and Stanford University. Both are highly trained people with advanced degrees and years of work publishing scholarly research.

Orb Photography

There's a growing phenomenon of Orb Photography, and many are claiming these pictures are indicating the presence of spirits. What are they?

There is a controversy surrounding these pictures. Some point to well known optical effects like lens flares. But others say they've carefully studied the optical system, and have examples of photographs that are clearly not optical issues, and know some simple methods to recreate those photographs at any time.
